A court yesterday in Kampala, charged and remanded the renowned author and civil society activist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija for 30 days to Kitalya prison. His only crime was to annoy and disturb the peace of inept octogenarian despot Museveni and his family.
The arrest of Kakwenza as it stands now, is a lousy technique by the senile dictator meant to divert the public on Uganda’s misdeeds in DRC, the unpreparedness of school reopening and the constant attacks of his social media shills on Rwanda.
What is strange is the fact that the repressive junta regime, that cracks down the opposition and muzzle the media, on the pretexts that it is annoying the powers that be, forgot that it’s the constituents that are tired of his bloodthirsty government. It is the citizens that are annoyed of his three decades of brutality, abductions, torture, massacres, tribalism and corruption.
If there is someone who should be rotting behind bars for annoying people, whom he brutalizes on a daily basis, is criminal and tyrant Yoweli Museveni. Like many dictators he has managed to rule his people on barrel of a gun while pen-fighters are silenced in prisons.
Rukirabashaija has been repeatedly arrested since “The Greedy Barbarian” and “The Banana Republic” were published. He has since been tortured while being interrogated by military intelligence about his work.
