For some time, despot Museveni sought to meddle in Rwandan affairs as a means to satiate his hegemonic ambitions. Senile Museveni in short wanted to be the boss of Rwanda, believing his own propaganda that he was the power both in Uganda and in Rwanda! This could not work of course; no country can give up its sovereignty for anyone. But to the tyrant of the Matooke Republic, as long as the nation of Rwandan was not taking orders from him, they were “being arrogant” and “ungrateful” for his supposed support during their liberation struggle.
Museveni has a megalomaniacal character that completely impedes him from realizing when he is wrong, no matter how much! So when Rwanda resisted his meddling, rather than look at the wrongness of his ways, and change course to become more respectful of Rwanda as a sovereign state, he doubled down on his wrong ways instead.
He chose to have a beef with Kigali, and particularly the head of state of Rwanda. Kagutema is a very funny character; an old man that will go to his grave never having learnt even a milliliter of humbleness. So he meddled more and more, creating hostile situations that progressively eroded all goodwill between Rwanda and Uganda, and led to the very bad relations of today. He sponsored rebel groups (such as the failed Sendashonga group), and he sponsored FDLR genocidaires, up to the RNC terrorist group of Nyamwasa. He worked with every negativist group to destabilize the security of Rwanda, and is still up to his machinations.
But all these years later, he has completely failed, even with all the resources and effort he has put into his hateful campaign against Rwanda, coordinated and spearheaded by his Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI). This is an old man that has never been wise at all, but rather extremely foolish in believing his own propaganda that he could impose his will on Rwandans. The arm-rotting dictator’s failures however only seem to just make him more bitter.
But what can he do? Rwanda is just too strong for him, in all spheres of state craft, military craft, and so on.
Inept, despot Museveni (and his cronies) are in shock wondering how a state so young could outsmart them in so many ways. Museveni’s daydream of making Rwanda Uganda’s appendage is looking the most foolish disaster, with the Ugandan economy in particular suffering badly after losing the Rwandan export market. No wonder his minions whine endlessly, asking Rwanda to “open ‘boarders.’”!
Until inept despot and senile Museveni changes perspectives on Rwanda, he will continue to be in for shock.
