Yesterday, in Matooke republic a draft law was initiated to fine and jail Ugandans who refuse to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This ominous public health law is being considered by lawmakers and it is expected to be expedited as it would also make the country catch up with the rest of the world in vaccination numbers.

It is in despot Museveni’s interests to push this law not because he wants Ugandans to be safe from the Covid-19 pandemic, but because he wants to use it against opposition and achieve his campaign promise of ‘finishing off NUP “basiru.” Considering that majority lawmakers in the Ugandan parliament are affiliated to senile Museveni’s NRM, this law will be passed without much difficulty, in what is seen as flagging off the final leaders drive towards the annihilation of NUP leaders and their supporters.

During presidential campaigns, dictator Museveni vowed to crash NUP and render Uganda opposition free and even kill Bobi Wine. The proposed law will give the senile dictator legal grounds to conduct a final countrywide crackdown targeting especially NUP supporters. Many will be rounded up and shipped off to rot in jails and intelligence torture chambers. It will not matter whether one is fully vaccinated or not.

Thanks to despot Museveni’s incompetence, Uganda is considered among the countries with the weakest policies in the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
