Prior to his quest into exile, Rukirabashaija had just escaped the jaws of the blood thirsty tyrant Museveni from Kireka prison, where he had been inhumanely and gravely tortured for speaking his mind. After his bail, Rukirabashaija released photos of fresh bruises and narrated how he was closer to his death.
Kakwenza Rukirabashaija’s exile follows that of a seasoned cartoonist and human rights defender Jim Spire Ssentongo who is currently in the US and Dr Stella Nyanzi, all seeking political asylum abroad and escaping death after serious torture and rape.
Being a brilliant lawyer and a writer, Rukerabashaija, devoted his time to fight inept Museveni’s junta regime by a barrel of pen. Since last year, illiterate and intellectually constipated minions of the regime have been on his neck, monitoring his moves and his social media engagements, because they hate the truth.
Kakwenza Rukirabashaija’s exile is the last example of inept despot Museveni constant repression against state critics and advocators of human rights that have been openly abused by senile him and his gullible cronies.
If we say that Matooke Republic is not a country but an open prison, that is what we mean, critics are repressed, thrown into jail, tortured and sometimes killed.
