It is said that Id Amin once said with cynicism, “your freedom of speech is guaranteed, but your freedom after is not”. Speak your mind and a Peugeot from State Research would come for you. With cancer stricken Museveni’s brutal regime, a Peugeot was no longer big enough to snatch dissident voices, he now sends “drones”!

The list of those targeted for death and torture has grown and grown for the last 36 years! In 1986, we first thought the dictator was hunting down former government officials, but he was going after former officials, their families and their entire clansmen. Quickly, he then set his eyes on potential rivals within his own ranks. He killed Generals, PHD holders, intellectuals and financiers of the liberation movement. Then came the ordinary religious leader, teachers, lawyers and even his own girlfriends (especially those who became pregnant) were all targeted, abducted and brutally killed. The list of victims of senile Museveni is worse than Idi Amin’s! Start with Kayiira in the first years, on to Mayombo, Aronda Nyakairima, Felix Kaweesi, Muhammad Kirumira, Muslim clerics, Catholic, it is endless!
But to instill fear, umbwa Kagutema sometimes shows off his brutality. Take Kakwenza Rukirabashaija for example; he was picked up, tortured beyond belief and his back left to look like an 18th century slave is now a sample of what Museveni can do to you! Who can forget images of Francis Kalibala “Frank”, body guard to opposition leader Bobi Wine, deliberately crushed by a military police car? Horrific images of thousands torture survivors haunt Ugandans on a daily basis, and it is deliberate. The message from the diaper-wearing tyrant is clear: drones will kidnap you and make you disappear or return you in broken pieces!
Hapless, helpless citizens of the Matooke Republic have for the last 36 years seen the growth of Museveni’s repressive, terror machine. In the times of Amin they used to abduct people in small four-seat vehicles. Now is is 21-seat Toyota vans aka “Drones” abducting people daily by the dozens. Under umbwa Kagutema, Uganda is not just a dictatorship; it is the purest form of totalitarian regime!
I am only a Former NRA Kadogo, always wondering what a curse senile Museveni is on the Matooke Republic.
