Reliable information from witnesses on spot when the shooting happened revealed that soldiers first cornered Habimana and demanded him “kitu kidogo” which he declined saying he doesn’t have enough money. They then told him to step aside and wait until further notice. Growing impatient Habimana asked why he could not proceed to the border and clear his goods, the question that led to his shooting in what soldiers described as altercation resulting from resisting orders.
In criminal Museveni’s junta republic, corruption is a tool of persecution and his soldiers know very well how to make use of it. Unfortunately, this time it was Theogene Habimana that had to pay the price after refusing to bribe despot Museveni’s soldiers working at the border to let his goods pass. He is currently nursing fatal injuries resulting from the shooting at the hospital nearby Cyanika border and has been joined by his family.
The shooting of Habimana is the latest since the opening of mutual borders between Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda remains categorical that Uganda harbors negative elements and hell bent terrorists under the cover of RNC with a prime objective of destabilizing Rwanda’s hard earned security and safety of its citizens.
The advisory to be on the lookout for Rwandans traveling in despot Museveni’s Matooke republic is not completely lifted just like many of Rwanda’s demands are yet to be addressed.
Stay tuned!
