Mr. Nathan L’Okori, the father to the late Speaker of Ugandan Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has revealed that his son did not die of natural causes, but rather was poisoned.

To show the truth of his statement, and who poisoned him, I will take you down memory lane.

Back in 1990, while a student at Makerere, Oulanyah was the speaker of the university students’ guild while the late Dorothy Nangwale was a guild cabinet minister. I will tell you about Dorothy later on. Both Oulanyah and Dorothy were UPC diehards.

Their cabinet, which had on its board the late Noble Mayombo, was anti-government. Mayombo, who also had presidential ambitions later died of “fulminant pancreatitis” despite being spirited off in the presidential jet, like Oulanyah was in Uganda airlines bombardier recently.

On Dec 10, 1990, they led a students’ strike. Museveni deployed the military disguised as police. Two students were killed on that day. These were the first shootings at protests under the NRM regime since capturing power 4 years earlier.

Oulanyah was beaten and left for dead, with his intestines out after one of the military operatives had slit his stomach open with a bayonet.

Interestingly Oulanyah, formally a UPC diehard, would take a surprising turn in his political career, to become an NRM tool, and preside over the most odious laws.

Eventually, he took over the house as speaker in a hostile bid funded and approved by senile Museveni.

Few people knew how Oulanyah planned his way up and his mission. He was marking time as a sleeper waiting for his time for revenge for the Makerere fracas. Becoming a speaker constitutionally put him within a heartbeat of the presidency currently occupied by a senile octogenarian.

Oulanyah was very deliberate in never speaking about the events of December 10th which tells you a lot. These things aren’t buried so easily!

However, in one of his media addresses in May last year, he hinted at it. He said he knows a few people that wronged him. And this is when the Pandora box was opened.

The senile octogenarian went back to the history records only to find that the man he nearly killed is now at the center of power, and strong enough this time to take revenge.

Since then, Oulanyah’s fate was sealed. Museveni poisoned him just like he poisoned Oulanyah’s first wife Dorothy Nangwale back in August 2009 and Nobel Mayombo in 2007 all of whom were part of the Makerere class of 1990 that was anti-NRM or had presidential ambitions.

Museveni’s trick is; “draw them closer, kill them when they are in their prime, no one will suspect you.”
