Senator Menendez’s petition comes barely a week after the US assistant secretary for democracy, and human rights, Lisa Peterson disclosed that her government was gathering evidence pinning criminal Museveni in the torture, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other forms of repression. Human rights violations have paralyzed Uganda over the last 36 years of aging despot Museveni’s iron-fisted rule.

Despot Museveni’s crimes continue to put him in the spotlight, with harsh international sanctions by the West biting. Quite a few of his close military officers or civilian supporters have tasted the sanctions. These will hit the treacherous assassin sooner rather than later since the world is closely watching his crimes against humanity and can no longer turn a blind eye.
