Reliable sources from security circles in Kampala and Somalia have it that soldiers who have been serving under AMISOM have not been paid for the past 12 months and many are threatening to abscond from duties.

Since the tenure of Brigadier General Keith Katungi from Major General Don Nabasa in December 2021, UPDF soldiers started to forego months without payments with hopes that money would land on their accounts any moment, but they are still waiting in vain. Things have been tough in camps.

Meanwhile, the senile bloody geezer and despot ruler Museveni has been at his farms in Kisozi taking pictures and yapping about “wealth creation” when he cannot even disburse salaries of his men and women serving in Somalia. How can one create wealth when he cannot even afford two daily meals?

The African Union provides at least $1,028 for each Amisom soldier each month, criminal despot Museveni’s junta government deducts around $200 for administrative costs and about $800 is sent to a designated account of every member of UPDF.

There are at least 6000 troops of UPDF in Somalia. Quick calculations will show you that there are roughly $58 million withheld cash that is supposed to go pay these soldiers in Somalia. Like every thief, despot Museveni pocketed the money used it for own benefits; whether soldiers in Somalia will get paid or not it is not his business.

This is not the first time Ugandan soldiers in UPDF have been denied their salaries for a period beyond 6 months, the same happened back in 2012 and 2016.
