Obviously Gakwerere’s congratulatory statements represent the position and the interests of his paymaster criminal despot Museveni. It is him that has wreaked havoc in DRC, it is him that has been plundering DRC minerals at an industrial scaled and he knows it would be a different story if there was prevailing peace.
The Qatar summit was the initiative of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to convene President Tshisekedi and President Paul Kagame to discuss the restoration of good relations between two neighboring states. Remember Rwanda’s Head of State has no business in whatever is happening in DRC; he has always made it clear that he cannot take responsibility of the leadership failure of the Congolese leader. His presence in Qatar would be out of courtesy and respect of the host in attempt to see what he can offer to bring peace.
What is shocking is the fact that Tshisekedi himself doesn’t want peace in his own failed state. Any sane mind would agree to any attempt to peace irrespective of whether it can yield positive results or not.
As we stated previously, Tshisekedi himself has proven that the longer the DRC remains in political turmoil and perpetual insecurity, the better for him. He has shown that he doesn’t want to organize peaceful elections and he will use the ongoing chaos as pretext to cling to power.
Like criminal despot Museveni, a regional warmonger and a bloody dictator, Tshisekedi has been learning from the best. To them democracy is a myth and to stay in power one has to commit innumerable crimes, spread terror and cause lingering violence. If you see Gakwerere yapping in support of the person he used to call an ‘accidental president’ just draw the connection. It is as simple as that.
Unfortunately, DRC will never have peace as long as criminal despot Museveni still harbors ill-intentions to loot its resources. The same applies to the Congolese leader himself, if Tshisekedi fails to take responsibility and put his house in order.
I am just a former NRA Kadogo.
