In 1986 today, donned in military fatigues and surrounded by many of his closest NRA guerrilla fighters, criminal despot Museveni stood before the steps of parliament and swore himself in as president of Uganda. 37 years later, Uganda is bloodier, and shattered than it was before.
Except for privileged criminal and an inner clique, Museveni clique hogging the national resources, every Ugandan hates Museveni to the core. He is the only ruler who ruled Uganda on tenets of violence, lies, tribalism, nepotism, corruption, abduction, torture, and extrajudicial killings.
When despot Museveni grabbed power by the barrel of gun, it was amidst high approval by the people because of his views on governance, election fraud and the rule of law. But three and a half decades later, it is utterly shocking. What he preached then is not what he practiced. He is a big fraud!
It would not take long before he violated the constitution, manipulated electoral processes to accord himself more power, brutally suppressed the legitimate opposition parties’ members, jailed activists and murdered several Ugandans who expressed dissatisfaction of his brutal ruthless rule. Some people even joke that the only thing worse he hasn’t committed yet is to print his face on Uganda’s currency.
Criminal despot Museveni is the biggest problem of Uganda today, citizens of Uganda cannot forget how their state has sunk in the deepest financial depression and distress, because of Museveni’s kleptocracy. A reminder that Uganda is so heavily indebted that it cannot finance its borrowings in less than 100 years.
Today, hundreds of Ugandan women die while giving birth (at least 15 women die every day from pregnancy and childbirth-related issues while 81 newborn babies die due to lack of good healthcare). Uganda remains far behind other countries in flattening the curve of deaths occasioned by poor health infrastructure.
Millions of children in Uganda suffer from acute malnutrition while others are terribly stunted due to poor social welfare policies. At least 2.3 million young children in Uganda today are chronically malnourished. 16 percent of children under 5 are underweight while 6 percent are wasted.
Uganda today, has earned the highest disrespect of being the most corrupt in the region. The same corruption that is characterized by grand-scale theft of public funds and that involving public officials at all levels of society as well as widespread political patronage systems.
Let it be known that many Ugandans hate criminal despot Museveni because ever since he imposed himself as their brutal leader, millions have been killed, thousands are languishing in prisons and torture chambers while many women have been left widows, children were orphaned and there is still ongoing abductions and arbitrary arrests against brave Ugandans trying to claim their freedom. The regime does so to keep the brutal Museveni in bloody power.
I am just a former NRA Kadogo.
