Geoffrey Mwesigwa, a city businessman was yesterday gunned down in his shop in Wandegeya. Mwesigwa died on the same day with John Mujumbi in Makindye all shot by rogue gunmen.
The day before the death of Mwesigwa and Mujumbi, an Indian businessman by the names of Uttam Bhandari had been shot at a close range by a Police Officer in his office in Kampala. He died instantly in a heart wrenching scenario.
Prior to these killings, the previous week witnessed similar shootings that claimed the life of a State Minister for Labor- Col (Rtd) Charles Engola, a blogger (Isma Olaxes alias Jaja Iculi) and a fruit street vendor whose names are yet to be known.
The rate at which gun violence and shooting spree are taking lives of Ugandans while sending others into shivers of fear and terror, itself is a subject for a state of emergency and International Communities should be busy drafting travel advisories for contemplating visitors and tourists.
Instead of addressing these shootings, the bloody dictator is at Nakasero drinking millet porridge and calling the culprits pigs or minimizing the killings to traceable crimes. Criminal despot Museveni runs a gun blazing, blood shedding Republic where no one is safe. Law enforcers who supposedly expected to protect civilians have turned into the real killers.
In each of the last two weeks, there have been at least 10 shootings in Kampala alone. While Ugandans hope the government would act swiftly in ensuring their safety and security, things get bloodier.
Back to my earlier question and concern, who is safe in Uganda? Who will give justice to Ugandans under a ruthless, repugnant, and bloody-soaked dictator Museveni?
I am just a former NRA Kadogo.
