In a high tone statement by the United States Administration against criminal despot Museveni’s bloody regime, President Joe Biden announced that he has directed the National Security Council to assess further grounds at which they will impose stringent sanctions against the dictator and his cronies.
Biden Administration’s statement yesterday condemning criminal despot Museveni’s signing of a harsh legislation on homosexuality is a clear statement that tyrant is in hot soup and his days are numbered. Trust Americans to know the best way to handle rebellious, incompetent and blood-shedding rulers like him.
My issue with the statement is that it looked at issues of rights singlehandedly and overlooked the most heinous gruesome rights abuse criminal despot Museveni has been doing for the past 37 years. The bloody geezer should equally be sanctioned for continuous arbitrary arrests, abductions, illegal detentions, torture, extrajudicial killings and silencing voices that criticize his Government, denial of rightful assembly, etc.
It has been long overdue for the US to take stern measures against dictator Museveni and his gang of cronies who have turned Uganda into a business property where they steal as they please, plunder resources in broad daylight and walk away scot free. Even worse the bloody regime has never shied away from persecuting every Ugandan that stood up to challenge the bloody regime.
Last week alone, Umar Magala in Kawempe, Kisembo Godfrey, Fazir Mayanja and Swabula Owomukisa have disappeared, thanks to criminal despot Museveni’s brainless thugs that conduct those operations, family of the victims have no idea, whether they will set eyes on their loved ones again. These are things US should hold Museveni into account for and call other nations to do the same.
US-Uganda relationship has been on a downward trend, from bad to worse, from the time the bloody tyrant was thrown out of the Africa-US summit, travel restrictions against some of high profile government and military officials, trade bans and removal of market access, it is high time something is done to save Ugandans from the shackles of a bloody dictator like Museveni.
Despot Museveni’s contemptuous decisions should also be a lesson to other states as well in making sure he is out of the picture. Like what happened to similar bloody rulers like Muammar Gaddafi, Sadam Hussein and others who have always placed themselves at the center to the detriment of the public.
I am just a former NRA Kadogo.
