Inept despot Museveni begs Iranians to tap into his troubled, and shunned oil industry

Yesterday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi paid a courteous call to the Uganda’s ruler, old despot Museveni. The two discussed a number of things including the setup of stalled Uganda oil refinery and construction of the pipeline.

A reminder that potential developers in oil industry including France and China, that had initially expressed interests in the extraction of oil in Uganda of around 6 billion barrels worth $50 billion, developed cold feet on the project due to arrays of uncertainty relating to corruption, leadership failure and unpredictable markets.

The visit of Iranian President could not have come as an opportunity for the corruption in chief criminal despot Museveni who has been salivating about the oil money before the extraction. Delays on extraction and production are not only subjective to corruption but laziness of the government in outlining a clean energy plan of the oil project.

Truth be told, while investors from china and France would need assurance from the inept regime about the return of their investments, criminal despot Museveni had started to count eggs before they hatch. Sources in the know talk of how the geezer is ready to surrender many properties as collaterals to plunder and reap big in the project. The senile ruler has bigger eyes than the stomach, a typical greedy tyrant.

Whether the Iran will risk its expertise and resources in oil production, shunned by the rest of countries like France and Iran, to support the greedy despot who cares about himself is something to watch, one thing is for sure, no returns are promised, dealing with despot Museveni is like dining with a hyena, it eats you in the end.

I am just a former NRA Kadogo.
