International lawyers mount pressure on despot Museveni due to his electoral violence

Speaking yesterday to Uganda’s Press, Bruce Afran, the American constitutional and public interests lawyer, who is following up a new ICC petition against dictator Museveni in Hague, resounded confidence in the fresh justice recourse against criminal despot Museveni and his bloody junta.

Early this month, a team of lawyers spearheaded by Afran in Princeton New Jersey, filed a heavy loaded legal suit at ICC against despot Museveni on his direct role in enforcing the abhorring and gruesome violence meted on innocent Ugandans during and after the previous bloody presidential elections.

According to petitioners, the UN based court this time will have to give the lawsuit ample prominence considering that it has on its basis more than 200 testimonies of the victims taken and signed on oath with first-hand materials incriminating despot Museveni and some of his immediate cronies.

A reminder that in the previous presidential elections, thousands of innocent Ugandans, supporters and politicians of leading opposition parties became victims of extreme violence unleashed against them by the junta regime to protect a criminal dictator that wanted to accord himself the seventh presidential term.

Victims in the fresh petition talk about how they were beaten, burned with hot irons, electrocuted, made to eat feces, forced to drink urine or had their teeth removed. They equally described being water boarded, whipped and stabbed, having chemicals thrown at them or being forced to lie down next to corpses.

Whether the bloody geezer will soon be paraded before the UN established court like some other rulers who were once indicted and stood accused, it is something to monitor closely. But one thing is for sure, the pressure against the dictator to respond to his heinous crimes is increasing and more sanctions are looming.
