It is very disheartening to see minions of criminal despot Museveni brandishing slogans of “Happy Independence Day” as if there is anything worth celebrating in Uganda, except poverty, abductions, extra-judicial killings, financial distress, chocking debts or corruption accolades?
On this so-called Independence Day, early in the morning criminal despot Museveni’s brutal goons abducted two leading opposition politicians (Joel Ssenyonyi and David Lewis Lubongoya). The two were scheduled to address supporters at Kamowkya on the continuous house-arrest of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, who is the Chairman of National Unity Platform (NUP).
When despot Museveni grabbed power by the barrel of gun, it was amidst high approval by the people because of his views on governance, election fraud and the rule of law. But three and a half decades later, it is utterly shocking. What he preached then is not what he practiced. He is a big fraud! So what is there to celebrate?
It would not take long before he violated the constitution, manipulated electoral processes to accord himself more power, brutally suppressed the legitimate opposition parties’ members, jailed activists and murdered several Ugandans who expressed dissatisfaction of his brutal ruthless rule. The greedy ruler will soon print his face on Uganda’s currency.
Criminal despot Museveni is the biggest problem of Uganda today, citizens of Uganda cannot forget how their state has sunk in the deepest financial depression and distress, because of Museveni’s kleptocracy. A reminder that Uganda is so heavily indebted that it cannot service its borrowings in less than 100 years.
Uganda today, has earned the highest disrespect of being the most corrupt in the region. The same corruption that is characterized by grand-scale theft of public funds and that involving public officials at all levels of society as well as widespread political patronage systems.
Coming back to this day, someone help me understand, except for privileged criminal and his inner clique hogging the national resources, is there anyone else in Uganda that support despot Museveni? Every Ugandan hates Museveni to the core. He is the only ruler who ruled Uganda on tenets of violence, lies, tribalism, nepotism, corruption, abduction, torture, and extrajudicial killings.
